Divine Surgery

Hello Dr. Morse,

I am glad I ran across your site on my search for NDE. I am in need of a professional opinion concerning a NDE.

I am a 38 year old male. Two years ago, I started recalling memories from my childhood. They started with startling visions. It progressed to what would be called OBE experiences during sleep. I had a memory of them starting when I was 3 years old. There was a tunnel of light I traveled though. I had heard of other experiences and watched the movie about Dannion Brinkleys experience. I was glad to see others who had gone though such an experience. I actually didn't think much of it those memories. (The OBE's) I have had a slight memory of one I have always remembered, so it wasn't anything new.

Then I progressed to memories of divine encounters with messengers of Light. (Angels.) There was a slow progression though the memories to other areas of spiritual matters. I was amazed and at the same time .... relieved that I had finally remembered some things from my past. The flood of memories started in July of 1996.

In July of this year -- I finally remembered something which answers the mystery of my own personal life. So many questions where answered. One of them was the question a medical physician had asked me in 1988.

I had taken a slight fall and ended up in the emergency room. I wanted to know how I could be seriously injured from something which should not even have left a bruise. My lung had collapsed. The physician who treated me explained I had fallen on a childhood injury. He went on to explain the things he saw on the X-ray. None of it made any sense to me in 1988. I never had a major operation like he was assuming. He stated that the evidence on the film indicated I had. He wanted me to find out the Doctor who had performed the surgery. He wanted to shake his hand.

I called my parents and asked about a major operation on my two lungs. I stated it should have been a life saving operation from what the ER Doctor had told me. The ER Physician wanted to know why it was not reported in a medical journal somewhere. My parents were as mystified about this as I was.

I told the ER Physician there was no record of me having major surgery in my childhood. (He wanted to look at the medical files if they still existed.) He asked if I was interested in submitting myself for research. It had nothing to do with my healing from the collapsed lung and I declined to get involved with any Doctors more than I needed. (I was concerned about the financial motive at the time --- even though he assured me it would cost nothing --- I was skeptical of his motives.)

In July, I remembered the injury which caused the scars the physician referred to. I went to a local Doctor and sent off for my medical records from the collapsed lung. I only remembered the Hospital and not the physicians name. I just got news this week the Hospital destroyed my medical files. (The ER physician assured me he would keep my medical files as long as he practiced. He went out of his way to inform me how to get them from his private office in the future. He predicted I would need them.) I have no memory of the physicians name. (It was a Japanese name. That is like a needle in a haystack in Hawaii. )

I am not happy with the response I received from the Physician I went though to get my medical records locally. He did not take my claim of a NDE seriously. (He sent me to a psychiatrist.)

My questions for you are what the ER physician have already told me. (I am on a quest to find all the Doctors who may have been on call during that period.) I would value and appreciate your best professional opinion.

1. How long could a physical body sustain life if both bronchus are separated from the trachea?

2. Would that time frame allow for a successful operation to repair the injury?

3. In 1962, was there technology available to perform such surgery and not leave exterior physical scars?

4. In 1962, was there laser technology available, and in use, to perform such surgical procedures?

5. In 1962, was there technology available to reattach the organs without the use of surgical stitches?

6. What would be your estimate of survival of this type injury if the victim was miles from a hospital in 1962?

7. If this type of operation could have been completed ---- what are the chances it could have been done without leaving any exterior surgical scars?

The above are based on statements the physician made from looking at the X-ray in 1988. I had no idea why he was telling me the things he did. He answered all of them and said he would include the notes with my medical file. I shrugged it off and looked at my watch --- wondering how much longer I had to listen to his medical jargon. I was very naive to the importance to his observations and his statements.

There is one question I can add to those which he did not address. It is something I have a memory of now. I feel the questions above are supported by evidence on the X-ray film. But one I can add from the memory I now have is --

How high are the odds of survival raised if one of the lungs was completely detached from the physical body?

In conclusion, there is one thing which stands out in my mind. The Doctor made a significant conclusion in his own written statement in the notes. He went out of his way to show it to me. It was:

"My only possible evaluation is the surgical procedure performed was of divine intervention. There is no other possible explanation."

I was so naive --- I had to ask him what divine meant. He stated, "It means -- I believe you were touched by the hand of God."

I ran from his office and closed my mind to it all. I had been told that by people all my life and I didn't know why. I was very much opposed to religion. The word I used to define my thoughts on religion was intimidation. What I told people during those days was....

"The oNe I believe in -- can not have their essense captured in a word. So I just say the oNe I love and the oNe I know LoVeS me." ( I honestly thought the Doctor was trying to recruit me to his religious beliefs.)

I had no idea of how signifacant a document would be which had a signature of M.D. stating their scientific and medical opinion of divine evidence.

I thank you in advance for your time in reading this post. I also appreciate any time you devote to answering my questions. But most of all --- I appreciate your work, and the enegry you have devoted to children and the study of this extraordinary experience. (I can remember my own frustration trying to express myself during childhood relating to this.) Peace --- Joy --- and Harmony 2 U!

Sincerely, David King,

Wow,

What an amazing story. I would be happy to review your medical records and answer all your questions.

Some of your questions are quite straightforward, and you probably already know the answer to, they seemed rhetorical in nature. I am not aware of laser or stitchless surgery in 1962, and most of the technology you allude to is not available today, so wondering about 1962 is not needed.

However, I would want to review your medical record, and then I can give you a sincere answer for the rest.

I discuss the transformative aspects of NDEs in vol 3. I would be happy to administer the Transformation Questionnaire to you, and that may well give you considerable insite as to the exact nature of your experience.
