I interviewed J.R., age 12, several weeks after her near death experience. She was refered to me by Jerry Milstein M.D., my advisor for my near death research project at Seattle Children's Hospital, after she told him her "funny dream".

She describes a classic near death experience. I wanted to present this video of her experience so that you can see the look in her eyes as she describes her experience.

Now you can understand why I feel so privileged to hear these experiences so soon after patients are resuscitated.

Once they have told the story again and again, that initial look of amazing awe is lost.

J.R. reviewed this tape, prior to our placing on the website. It was filmed over six years ago. She remembers the experience very vividly today.

She said that her description of the experience does not even begin to describe how she really felt.

At the time she felt awkward and shy and it was hard to put into words the experience and the emotions she felt during it.

She drew me this picture of the heavenly realm that she traveled to.
